[ Mabu sighs, disappointed, It's way too early, but he didn't know what to do with himself in the morning when he was the only one awake for at least a few hours. For now, he decides not to stuff the food in Reo's mouth, if only because he doesn't want to choke him. ]

I baked something this morning. Or rather, I tried to bake something this morning....

[ It's not that he expects a coherent answer, but just being able to talk to Reo, even if he's asleep, is comforting. Gently, he pats the top of Reo's head to let him know that he's here. ]

Dummy... if you couldn't sleep you shoulda woke me up sooner...

[ He murmurs again. His grip on his pants tightens a little as he rolls to his side to face Mabu. His eyes slowly start to flicker open and his head immediately goes to look up at Mabu. ]

[ Mabu is admittedly startled by the response. He can't even be upset because he knows sometimes he can be an idiot, but at least the main reason he didn't wake Reo up is because it's basically 4 in the morning and nobody needs that. ]

What was it that actually woke you up?

[ No denying the "dummy" part. ]

I smelled something delicious.... but I mostly ignored it until I heard that sad tone in your voice...

[ B-Baka... ]

[ What a tsundere. ]

It was... actually, I can't describe it. It wasn't loneliness because you're right here, and even if you're asleep I have you nearby so it's okay. Maybe... restlessness?

[ But now that Reo's awake, Mabu has no problem attempting to poke the spinach and cheese puff ball into Reo's mouth. Get in there. ]

[ Reo makes a surprised sound as his teeth sink into this puffball that Mabu pressed into his mouth. He coughed and quickly sat up so it didnt feel like he was about to drown in food.

It takes him a few minutes to actually eat it, but when he does he lets out a soft hmmm ]

That's not bad...!

Do you think so?

[ Besides Mabu on a platter is a good 40 or so of those puff balls. They're all a nice brown colors and are filled with different fillings. He probably wanted Reo to try them all. ]

I tried to make sure that one would be creamy, warm, and satisfying.

It's certainly a pretty tasty treat to wake up to that's for sure.

[ He hasn't exactly noticed the pile sitting next to Mabu yet.... does mabu want to make him fat? ]

[ If that's what it takes for Reo to taste his love, then sure. ]

Not exactly a breakfast one. Hmm....

[ Mabu glances at the platter, probably searching for one that might actually be a breakfast one. ]

[gunlabels]

You... sure busied yourself this morning, didn't you...

[ Aha....ha. He notices Mabu's concentration and that's all he needed to know he definitely made a whole bunch. ]

For an hour or so, yes....

[ He plucks up one and then presses it to Reo's mouth. This one is an egg and hot sauce roll. ]

[ He opened his mouth to reply back and instead was greeted with another roll pressed into his mouth. Mabuuuu!! He doesn't need help eating!

He flushes a tiny bit but finally takes a bite. Nomnomnom.... he continues eating it. ]

Hmm.....!

Egg with a kick.

[ He gives Reo a small smile. ]

Mabu.... these are really good!

[ He finally sits all the way up with his hands in his lap looking like he was practically sparkling. Actually that's because he was sparkling. ]

I made a few batches for you, but I wasn't really sure what filling would be best, so...

[ He has a problem, okay? But seeing such a reaction from Reo warms his heart. ]

I'm glad you like them. I'm still rusty on cooking and baking, but I've been improving.

I'd be happy to try some more... or something so. Yeah.

[ At that, Mabu lifts up the platter. The different types of puff balls are neatly arranged almost in a period, but not so precariously so it's probably okay to take one from just about anywhere without it toppling over. ]

Which one looks the best to you?

Surprise me!

[ He closes his eyes and opens his mouth wide, waiting for Mabu to treat him. ]

[ Mabu thinks about which flavor to give Reo. After careful deliberation, Mabu pops one of the treats into Reo's mouth. This one is a cream puff ball -- sweet and light and creamy. ]

[gunlabels]

[ Ah.... he wasn't expecting him to have made something so sweet as well. He lets out a happy sound as he chewed down on this puff ball. The sparkly bubbles starting to increase. ]

Mabu.... this is so delicious...! I feel like... it's been forever since I've had your cooking..!

[heartgear]

It's really getting better then?

[ He can't help but be a little relieved as he reaches out to delicately poke one of the bubbles. ]

[gunlabels]

[ He stopped himself before what he wanted to say next slipped out. "It just like you were cooking like your old self again...!" No you idiot! He was always his old self, don't be so insensitive! ]

D-Delicious!

[ He couldn't believe that thought even came to his mind... baka!! ]

[heartgear]

[ Mabu is initially pleased, and the proof of that can be seen in the small sparks that burst and dissipate quickly in the air. Then he turns his evaluative gaze on Reo in the dimness of their apartment. ]

I know it isn't quite there yet, but I think with enough practice I'll improve to how I used to cook. Still... I'm glad they're edible.

I still... can't believe you're willing to go through so much effort for me...
